RT: Armor People Link Twitters its way to "Small Business of the Month" at Brampton Board of Trade.
Brampton, Ontario, Canada February 8, 2010 – Armor People Link is named “Small Business of the Month” by the Brampton Board of Trade for its innovative use of social networking tools like Twitter in the staffing and recruiting industry.
Armor People Link recently demonstrated its strength in leveraging social networking at the HRPA 2010 Annual Conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada by initiating and leading a dynamic Twitter network around the hash tag or keyword #hrpa2010. This Twitter network developed over a period of three weeks connected thousands of participants at the show and generated more than 500 twitter message per day from participants at the show. “We used a variety of social networking techniques to build the popularity of the hash tag #hrpa2010 and then directed participants to our real-time stream of events on our TalentFindr blog (http://www.armorpeoplelink.com/talentfindr), said Geoff Clendenning Vice President Business Development for Armor People Link. In addition to generating a great deal of user content the #hrpa2010 network also facilitated the ability of show participants to network virtually, thus allowing new connections to be made that otherwise might have never taken place.
The implementation of the #hrpa2010 network is the first time Twitter has played a significant role in the HRPA experience and the company believes it is the first to use Twitter in this way in the Canadian HR industry. “We were very pleased with the outcome of the show and the enthusiastic participation we received from other Twitter participants. We’re looking forward to replicating this success with other staffing and HR related conferences throughout the year.” Geoff Clendenning, V.P. Business Development.
Armor People Link will be formally recognized as the Brampton Board of Trade “Small Business of the Month” in the February issue of the board’s newspaper “TradeTalks” and during the Board of Trade’s After Hours event at Playdium in Mississauga on February 23rd, 2010.
